I simply cannot say enough about how wonderful it is to live in this area called Lakeside or Lake Chapala/Ajijic (Ah-hee-heek) with its 1st class weather and retirement opportunities. My children laugh when I tell them that the only stress here is what you bring with you so it's best to leave it all at the border. I believe it to be true! My beginning was on a farm in Minnesota and then educated at the University of Minnesota before embarking in a life long career in dental equipment sales and dental office design. Before Mexico, home for thirty years was in beautiful Colorado until selling my business and retiring and then going back to college for real estate. I have now mastered the word, "hola," and will move to the next Mexican word on my list --- sometime in 2010! Toni was born & raised in Austin, Texas, when Austin was still a small city with contagious energy that seemed to draw people from everywhere. At that time people were still able to walk to the lake, the park, movies & baseball games. After many years of private schools, business school, University classes, etc., opportunity knocked and she found herself in Dallas, Texas. Her first job was as an assistant to a very successful Real Estate Developer and the President of the Dallas Apartment Association. After a few years, family called her back to Austin and she was employed by the Texas Apartment Association as Office Manager/Event Planner. Obviously, the next step was Real Estate. In 1972 Toni was licensed and became a Real Estate Broker in Austin for 25 years. She moved to Ajijic to “retire,” but after some time off, is back doing what she loves!!!
